Findings of a Foster

Episode Two - Teeny Tiny Kittens are Growing Up!!

Hi Everyone - Rachel O, Marketing Director for FLR, here!

I wanted to give you all an update on Ash and Aggron for our second episode of 'Findings of a Foster!' We've hit some exciting milestones this week that I'm excited to share with you!

I moved Ash and Aggron from their Tupperware container to my bathtub! This gives them more room to play, eat, and explore! After everyone is 100% litter trained, we will move them to a full bathroom, which I'm sure they'll love!

Aggron hit the 300 gram (10.5 ounce) mark! Ash isn't too far behind, and should hit 300 grams this week! Knowing that Ash and Aggron are both thriving is incredibly satisfying!
Both kittens are officially eating 'slurry' on a regular basis. Slurry is wet food mixed in with some goat's milk into sort of a milkshake consistency (sounds appetizing, right?). This is the kittens' first step towards wet food, and eventually, dry food! This also means that they're not eating as frequently, which means more sleep for me!!

We are weaning the kittens off of the bottle - Aggron is nearly 100% bottle free! Both he and Ash have been taking sips out of their water bowl to stay hydrated. In addition to slurry, we also make sure they have access to dry food. Aggron has shown a big interest in the dry food!

Aggron has started peeing and pooping on his own! We are still working on making it to the litter box, but I know he will master that very soon!

Ash and Aggron have started playing together and with their toys, and are learning to groom themselves! Learning to groom is a huge thing, especially because they're such messy eaters!

Every single one of these milestones has been AMAZING! I'm so thankful that FLR was able to intake these kittens. It has been such an incredible learning experience for me, and I'm grateful that I get to share them with you!

Ash and Aggron will be able to go to their forever homes once they are 8 weeks old, 2+ pounds, and spayed / neutered. They are an absolute DELIGHT to foster - my daughter has enjoyed playing with them and getting to help in their care, too!
